Dianna Jean Powell Ball, 69, of Monteview, Idaho, passed away at home surrounded by family Sunday March, 22, 2015 after a hard-fought battle with metastatic breast cancer. Dianna was born in Roosevelt, Utah July 20, 1945 to Wayne and Ruby Powell. She grew up in Lehi, UT with sisters Bonnie Goodfellow (Don), Patricia, Shauna Wadley (Kent), and brother Duane (Dianne). Dianna spent her teenage years working at Saratoga Hot Springs until her High School Graduation. Dianna graduated from Lehi High School in 1963 and continued her education at Rick’s College. There she made great memories and lifetime friends while involved in student government. Dianna graduated from the nursing program in 1966. She began her nursing career working at the University of Utah hospital. She married RJ Ball of Lewisville, Idaho on May 12, 1967 in the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City, UT. After four years of serving in the United States Air Force, their small family moved to Lewisville Idaho to begin their life on the farm. They settled in Monteview, Idaho to raise their family of nine children. RJ farmed while Dianna continued her nursing career working at Madison Memorial Hospital, as a home health nurse in the local area, and at the INL. Dianna completed her Bachelors in Nursing from ISU in 2009. Of the many accomplishments she made throughout her life, her most impactful was the effort and hard work she spent within her home raising her 9 children, and the support, love, and involvement she gave to her subsequent grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, RJ; children, Andy (Dovie) of Mapleton, UT; Doug (Kathlynn) of Grace, ID; Kristen (Larry) Simmons of Soda Springs, ID; Brooke (Jerry) Cook of Fargo, ND; Brian (Sandra) of Lemoore, CA; Ann (Mike) Wilcox of Chubbuck, ID; Kimberly (Adam) Harker of Pasco, WA; Michelle (Barrett) Johnson of Brigham City, UT; Eric (Tiffany) of Lake Stevens, WA; and 45 grandkids; Brother Duane (Dianne) Powell of Las Vegas, NV; Sister Shauna (Kent) Wadley of Ferron, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Patricia and Bonnie (Don) Goodfellow . In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation in her memory to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund or LDS Humanitarian Aid Fund. Words cannot begin to express the appreciation for the ongoing thoughts and prayers in her behalf. Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm Tuesday March 24, 2015 at the Terreton stake center, 1297 E 1500 N in Terreton. The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm Monday, March 23 and from 10am-11:45am prior to Tuesday’s services at the church in Terreton. Interment will be at the Lewisville Cemetery at approximately 3:30pm.
