Our dear mother, Dixie Joan Peterson Hatch, passed away November 10, 2025, peacefully in her Cottonwood Home, with her family by her side. Mom was born on May 28, 1944, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to DeLore and Veola Grover. She was the 3rd of 4 children and their only daughter.
Dixie graduated from Madison High School in 1962. She then attended beauty school at Career Beauty College. On September 7, 1965, Dixie married Brent A. Peterson, and started her favorite calling of being a stay-at-home mother.
Mom decided to go back to school in 1989 and received her Nursing Degree from Ricks College in 1991. She worked for various agencies in the field, which led her to start Cottonwood Care, her own Residential Habilitation Agency, where she worked closely with developmentally delayed children and adults.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and fulfilled many callings. Her favorite callings were being a service missionary for the family history center, and a temple ordinance worker.
Dixie had a great love for the outdoors. She enjoyed camping, floating down Macks Inn with her family and taking day trips often. She also enjoyed gardening oil painting, sewing, quilting and canning. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Dixie is survived by our father, Brent Peterson and her seven children, Jeff (Heidi) Martin, Catherine (Kim) Nielson, Mike (Ronda) Peterson, Amy (Dan) Nef, Ginger Peterson (Lance Hymas), David (Samantha) Peterson, and Krissy (Destry) Christensen, 23 grandchildren, 35 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, as well as her brothers, Merrill (Linda) Grover, Bill (Judy) Grover and sister-in-law Maureen Thurston.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Bill Hatch, her parents, her brother Brent Grover, a nephew Randy Grover, a niece Shannon Grover and a grandchild, Brock Martin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Labelle 5th Ward Building (364 N 4100 E Rigby, Id). The family will receive friends on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Labelle 5th Ward, and again prior to the service on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Sutton Cemetery.
