Dixie Lou Fehlberg Nelson, age 70 of Rigby, passed away at her home Wednesday, September 23, 2015. Dixie was born September 26, 1944 at American Fork, Utah a daughter to Reinhold Leopold and Beulah Beatrice Keatley Fehlberg. She grew up and attended schools in American Fork, Utah. She attended, was a cheerleader at, and graduated from American Fork High School. She attended and graduated from LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah. On September 18, 1964 she married Dennis Nelson in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in Young Women’s Association, taught Temple Preparation Class, and was coordinator of the Bulletin and Trophy Case at the Rigby 8th Ward for several years. She served as Rodeo Queen Coordinator on the Jefferson County Rodeo Board for 23 years. She was an active member of Mary Kay Cosmetics for 32 years. She enjoyed fast cars and fast horses. She is survived by her husband Dennis Nelson of Rigby, children: Terri Lin Ireland of Idaho Falls, Becky Nelson of Redding, California and Kenny Nelson of Idaho Falls; a sister Judith Larson of Bountiful, Utah, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, a sister Jeanne McCall and brother Vern Fehlberg. Funeral Services will be held Saturday September 26th at 11:00 a.m. in the Rigby East Stake Center, 4021 East 300 North, Rigby with Bishop Layne Kinghorn officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.eckersellfuneralhome.com.
