Dolores Rinehart Nichols, 78, of Rigby, died Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Idaho Falls Care and Rehabilitation Center, of natural causes.
She was born January 3, 1931, in American Fork, Utah, to Frank Melvin Pulley, and Emma Elvira (Elva) Palmer Pulley. She attended schools in American Fork, Utah and graduated in 1949. She was a born teacher, and taught Primary, Mutual and owned and operated a preschool, which she enjoyed very much. She married Clarence Arthur Rinehart August 29, 1950, in the Logan LDS Temple, Logan, Utah. He preceded her in death.
Summer time, meant Grandchildren time, who came and stayed the summer and were taught childhood games; Mother May I, Hide the thimble, ping pong, volleyball, She loved being called Grandma and enjoyed the many camp-outs, fishing trips, walks and love and hugs of grandchildren and children as they built fond family memories.
Dolores was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served on the Stake Board of Relief Society in American Fork, Utah, until moving to Rigby, Idaho in 1982. Her love of life was expressed in her many writings of her books. She was blessed with an unconquerable spirit of genealogy for her ancestors and family. She served many happy hours in the Genealogy Extraction Program.
She is survived by her husband, Willard A. Nichols, of Rigby, daughters, Melanie Redler, of Dania Beach, FL, Allison Rinehart, of Rigby, ID, Gail Grasseth, of Longview, WA, a son, Clair Rinehart, of Bowlingreen, KY, sister, Afton (Ron) Proctor, of American Fork, UT, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a husband, Clarence Rinehart, 8 brothers, and 2 sisters.
In a whirlwind of romance Dolores married Willard Alton Nichols in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on January 3, 2006, for time only. She really enjoyed his son Greg Nichols, his visits and time spent together. The family expresses their gratitude to Willard for his loving care to their mother all these years, and for his loving kindness and gestures along the way, they shared much happiness together.
Funeral services will be held at 11: 00, a.m. Friday, October 9, 2009, at the Rigby East Stake Center. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Thursday evening at the Rigby East Stake Center, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Friday morning, also at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
