Don Lamar Boyle, 75, of Victor died Sunday, February 12, 2012 in Beaver Dam, Arizona.
He was born March 12, 1937 in Victor, Idaho, to Blaine and Pearl Boyle. He attended Victor Elementary School, and graduated from Teton High School in 1955, where he excelled as a cornet player under the direction of Clarence “Prof” Murdock.
While attending college at Idaho State University, Don dated and later married Madge Hastings on February 19, 1958. Together, they raised six children in the shadows of the Teton Mountain range.
During the early years, Don worked at the Nelson Ricks Cheese Factory in Victor until its closure in 1969. It was in 1970 that the family moved out to the family farm four miles West of Victor, where he established a dairy operation that produced milk through 1984. From 1985 through 2000, he worked at Grand Targhee Ski Resort. In 2000 they sold the farm and later moved to Ammon, Idaho during the summer months and Beaver Dam, Arizona in the winter. Don and Madge spent these retirement years traveling with Alan to Europe and Hawaii, enjoying their grandchildren, and visiting with friends and neighbors.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and walking about the farm with his dogs in tow.
He is survived by his wife, Madge Boyle, of Ammon, daughters, Sonia (Ken) Beard, of Archer, Carol Ann (Tim) Boyle, of Idaho Falls, Becky (Cliff) Evans, of Gooding, sons, Brian (Rose) Boyle, of Nampa, Alan Boyle, of San Francisco, CA, Brent (Linda) Boyle, of Idaho Falls, brothers, Lee (Berniece) Boyle, of Rexburg, Nile (Moana) Boyle, of Rexburg, Barry (Kay) Boyle, of Rigby, 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Ina June and a brother, Gene.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Victor LDS Chapel, with Bishop Rod Draney, conducting. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Victor Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
