Don Ellis

Don Ellis, age 62, of Salem Idaho, passed from this life October 28th while at home with his family.

He was born In Arco, Idaho to Lamar and Sharon Ellis. His family moved to Rexburg, Idaho when he was a young boy where he attended school and resided until he moved to the Salem area with his wife and children in the late 1990’s.

Don married Rhonda Hartman in 1985, they recently celebrated their 40th anniversary. Together they have three children, a son-in-law, and two grandchildren. His family meant the world to him.

He was a long-time employee of Madison Memorial Hospital where he was the Dietary manager and finished his work career at Melaleuca as a line Operator. He worked most of his life doing farm work on the side.

Don came to his faith as a born-again Christian 1992. He worshiped with and served the church of Saint Anthony's Upper Valley Baptist and later Calvary Chapel Rexburg with love for all his brethren regardless of location. Mercy and grace were the pillars of his faith, and his motto was, “Be still and know God”.

He loved to spend time with his family, gardening, caring for small animals, working on cars and with wood, but truly found his gift in leathercraft. He is survived by his wife Rhonda, his children Lacey, Caleb, Ashley, Kody, his grandchildren Freya and Emma, and his siblings Larry Ellis, Lynn Ellis, Julie Pead, and Arlene Cleverly.

Services are being held Saturday, November 22, at Calvary Chapel Rexburg 104 College Street Rexburg, ID 83440. A visitation time to greet the family will begin at 10:30 followed by a memorial service at noon. The ladies of Calvary Chapel are providing a luncheon for family and friends after the service.
