Dona Marie Decker

Dona Marie Decker, age 70, of Rigby, passed away at the Hospice House in Idaho Falls, Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Dona was born November 18, 1945 at Rigby, Idaho. She was a daughter to David Deering Prophet and Virginia Mame Chiles Prophet. She attended Schools in Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School in 1964. While in high school, she was a member of the Troyette Drill Team. She married Donald Earl Decker, April 23, 1965 in Lewisville, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She attended Vouge Beauty College and worked for Connie Millard as an intern to become a Beautician. She worked at the Back Door beauty shop and loved her ladies. She loved to sew, cook, and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing, spending time at the cabin, going for walks and picking flowers with her children. She always had a garden and raised one for her mother also. She was her children’s #1 fan and enjoyed attending their sporting events. She is survived by her husband, Don Decker of Rigby, two daughters: Deana (Trevor) Byram of Rigby, and Kendra (Brandon) Klingler of Rigby, a son David (Margo) Decker of Rexburg, two sisters: Elaine (Glen) Boyce of Idaho Falls and Linda (Van) Sandifer of Bone, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Dale Prophet, and a sister, Lorraine Prophet. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rigby 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 364 North 4100 East, Rigby. The family will visit with friends Monday evening, May 30th from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, Idaho, and on Tuesday, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel. Don and his family extend their gratitude to Hospice of Eastern Idaho for their loving care and kindness of Dona. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Hospice of Eastern Idaho at 1810 Moran, Idaho Falls, ID 83401.
