Dona (Lemmon) Zundel, age 90, of Rigby, returned to be with her husband and her God on Christmas day, December 25, 2011, at the Homestead Assisted Living of Rigby.
Dona was born March 23, 1921 at Rigby, Idaho a daughter to Oliver Ernest Lemmon and Pearl Green Lemmon. She attended schools grade 1 through 12 in Rigby. She married George Daniel Zundel September 2, 1939 in Rigby. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Dona enjoyed dancing, singing, playing violin and church where she served in the primary. Her husband Dan was the love of her life as were her children and grandchildren. She served in the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved playing cards and bowling, gardening, sports especially basketball.
Dona is survived by two daughters: Patty (Bob) Anderson of Rigby, Judy (Bill) Post of Boise, two sons: Danny (Penny) Zundel and David (Kay) Zundel of Rigby, 14 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandchild, eight sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
