Donald Trevor Bailey

Donald T. Bailey, born July 27, 1929, in Los Angeles, California, passed in his sleep on September 17, 2009. He was the son of Ralph DeWitt Bailey and Alice Morrey. Raised in Utah, Don attended East High in Salt Lake City and later studied Geology at the University of Utah. In 1949 he served a two and half year mission in Mexico. He went on to marry his sweetheart, Mildred Widdison, in the Idaho Falls temple in 1952. After the Korean War, where he served honorably as a Drill Sergeant in Fort Huachuca, Arizona, they settled in Salt Lake to raise six wonderful kids. He loved life and traveled the world as a geologist chasing gold in Mexico and Ecuador with his family in tow. He taught them to love other cultures and to respect different people of the world. In 1972, the Bailey family moved to Idaho, where he worked as an electrician and built custom homes. Later in life, Donald and his wife served service missions to Peru and the Dominican Republic. They were instrumental in building temples in Costa Rica and Uruguay. He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Kathleen. He is survived by his wife Mildred, daughter Carol Ann (Patrick) Pepiot, and sons Kevin (Rosemary), Kirk (Ann), Chris (Anna), Alan (Laura). Viewing will be at the Clark Ward Sunday evening, September 20, 2009 from 6 to 8 P.M. The church house is located at the corner of 4300 East and 200 North, Rigby. There will be a viewing from 10 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. on Monday, September 21st, and the funeral program will start at 11:00 A.M. in the Clark church house. Following the program, graveside services will then be held at the Idaho Falls Fielding Memorial Cemetery.
