Donald George Hayes died on October 25, 2007.
He was born July 22, 1959 in Idaho Falls, ID to Terry L. Hayes and VeOna Hansen Hayes.
He married Kristine Marie Duncan on February 14th, 1988. Kris chose this day not for the romance but because it was the one time of the year when there were no open hunting seasons. Don later informed her that there was indeed an open season, they could hunt rabbit together, and often did. He enjoyed taunting her with gifts such as pink fishing poles for their anniversary.
Don attended Midway Elementary and graduated from Rigby High School. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Don was very skilled in construction and worked for his Father from a very young age until his father’s retirement, at which time he started his own company. His skill in the trade earned him the nickname “MACGYVER” because he could find a solution to any construction problem. His work took him both near and far, from California to Tennessee, and Prudhoe Bay Alaska to the New Mexico Border and even South America. He loved to travel.
Don loved the outdoors; he especially enjoyed snowmobiling with his wife, horseback riding, fishing and hunting with family and friends, reading anything he could get his hands on, and the gospel. But what meant the most to him was spending time with his wife and kids. He loved them above all else and would do anything to make them happy.
Don had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Sometimes it seemed that helping others was all that kept him going.
Don is survived by his Kris, sons Tim, and Daniel (Dallas), daughters Sarah and Ashley, three grandchildren, mother VeOna, brothers Gregory B. Hayes and David B. Hayes, Sister Teri Lyn Chenoweth and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Terry, Brother Bruce L. Hayes, and grandparents Chancy and Edith Hansen and George and Odessa Hayes.
He is greatly missed by many.
