Donald “Don” E. Martin, 83 of Menan, die Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Don was born October 9, 1932 in Jackson, Wyoming to Charles Reed Martin and Cora A. Payne. He was raised and attended schools in Jackson, Wyoming, graduating from Jackson High School. He cowboyed for local ranches in the Jackson area. On June 1, 1953, married Rose Wenzel in Jackson, Wyoming; they had one daughter and three sons. They later divorced. January 14, 1997, he married Janet Quigley and gained two step-sons. He ranched in the Jackson and Wilson Wyoming areas, as well as the Rigby Area. He also owned and operated M & M Building Supply in Rigby for 15 years with his son Glen. Don was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the National Chariot Racing Association. He raced horses throughout the intermountain west for many years. Don was always willing to share his knowledge of horses and ranching and enjoyed helping others. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and reading. He is survived by his wife, Jan Martin, of Rigby, Sherry (Grant) Crowder, of Roberts, sons, Michael “Mike” Martin, of Rigby, Glen (Carol) Martin, of Ammon, step-sons, Jim (Melissa) Bernard, of Rigby, Glen (Sara) Quigley, of Rigby, 17 grandchildren, 40 plus great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Donald Edward Martin, 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Meals on Wheels program at the Rigby Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 525, Rigby, Idaho 83442. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
