Donald Kay Price, age 67, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at his home in Milo of cancer.
He was born March 6, 1948, in Idaho Falls to Russell Roosevelt Price and Effie Lavern Brown Price. He was raised in Milo and attended schools in Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School. He continued his education at Ricks College in Rexburg and graduated from BYU in Provo, Utah, with a degree in Business Management. On July 12, 1969, he married the love of his life, Delain Cook in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Being born on the same day, they shared a unique bond and were best friends through many seasons of life. They were blessed with 6 daughters and one son.
Don was very business- minded and an optimist. He was a passionate and innovative farmer who established Don Price Livestock which he owned and operated throughout his life. He was a risk-taker who insisted on getting the best deals.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he served in the Eastern Atlantic States Mission and in several other capacities including; Young Men’s and Elders Quorum Presidents, High Priest Group Leader, High Councilman, Bishopric member, Stake Mission President, and an ordinance worker in the Idaho Falls Temple. He was also an Eagle Scout and served in the scouting program.
He was a good decision-maker who valued hard work, kindness, generosity, honesty, knowledge, friendships and his testimony. He was tender-hearted and soft spoken and held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren. Most of all he cherished his family and the time they spent together.
Don had an appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, motor biking, Razor riding, spending time at the cabin and traveling.
He is survived by his wife Delain Price of Milo, seven children, Stacey (Evan) Hansen, of Rexburg, Kristie (Tyrel) Lemons, of Milo, Jennifer (Derek) Pinnock, of Logan, Utah. Hollie (Jayson) Arfmann of Milo, Natalie (Justin) Taylor of Rexburg, Greg (Tasha) Price of Milo and Allison (Thomas) Holt, of Riverton, Utah, brothers, Fred (June) Price of Rigby, John (Deana) Price, of Rigby, sisters, Delores “Bobbie” Gray, of Idaho Falls, Joy Ockerman, of Idaho Falls, Ann Summers, of Rigby, sisters-in-law, Judy Price of Idaho Falls, Roni Price of Pendleton, Oregon, and 22 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Cliff, Bill, and Vic Price, sisters, Sherry Erickson, and Donna Price.
Don was an influential member of his community and a mentor to many. He was adored by his family and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 20, 2015, at the Milo LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Monday prior to services, both at the church. Burial will be in the Milo Cemetery.
