Donald V Warner, 86 of Rigby passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at his home. He was born May 2, 1928 in Grace, Idaho, to William Carlson Warner and Katherine Johanna Van Den Akker Warner. He was raised and attended schools in Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School. During high school he participated in football, basketball, and was active in the FFA program. On November 2, 1951, he married Nadine Hansen in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were blessed with 2 daughters and 4 sons. Don was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he served in several capacities including a fulltime mission to South Africa in his younger years, and later in life served in the Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Mission with his wife, Nadine. Don was a member of the Lions Club and was active in the National Farmers Organization. Don was a dairy farmer for many years and enjoyed farming and animals. His hobbies included fishing and hunting and traveling. He loved having family around and would frequently exclaim, “It doesn’t get any better than this!” He is survived by his wife, Nadine H. Warner, of Rigby, daughters; Julie Kaye W. (Reino) Macki, of Rigby, DeAnne Warner, of New York, New York, sons; Richard A. (Joyce) Warner, Van H (Karen) Warner, W. Roger (Kristine) Warner, all of Rigby, sisters; Ruth W. (Herb) Harrop, of Idaho Falls, Nancy Anne W. (Loren) Stegelmeier, of Rexburg, brother; Kent O. (Brenda) Warner, of Terreton, 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Darhyl Lucille Warner, and son; Dennis K. Warner. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Rigby Stake Center with Bishop Carl Poulsen conducting. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street in Rigby, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery, services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
