Donita Mae Whittaker, 54, of Lyman, Idaho passed away peacefully at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital in Salt Lake City on Monday, August 4, 2014, with her sister and best friend by her side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by two sisters: Ruby Whittaker and Cheryl Whittaker, both of Lyman, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Lyman L.D.S. 1st Ward chapel with Bishop Wade Huntsman officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. A special thanks goes to the Doctors and staff at Teton Oncology in Rexburg and the Madison Memorial Hospital nurses in infusion therapy for their many hours of service, concern and care for Donita.
