Donna Ruth Johnson Archibald, 90, of Idaho Falls, died Monday, August 23, 2010, at the Fairwinds Sand Creek Retirement Home.
She was born October 28, 1919, in Wilford, Idaho, to Raymond Kenneth Johnson and Wealthy Jane Pincock. She was raised and attended schools in Wilford Idaho, graduating from Sugar Salem High School. On June 28, 1940, she married David Merlin Archibald in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they had five children. They lived for many years in Cody, Wyoming, and then for 30 years in Billings, Montana before moving back to Eastern Idaho.
She is survived by her husband, D. Merlin Archibald, of Idaho Falls, daughters, DeeAnn (Wayne) DeMill, of Jemez Springs, NM, Beth Stone, of Jonesboro, AR, sons, Brent (Henrietta) Archibald, of Layton, UT, Donald (Sherry) Archibald, of Rigby, ID, Leon (Valeen) Archibald, of Ledyard, CT, sisters, Mildred Peterson, of Welton, AZ, Lorayne Harris, of Sandy, UT, Karin (Doug) Swendson, of Springville, UT, a brother, Kay (Joyce) Johnson, of Idaho Falls, ID, 27 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Alene Christensen, a granddaughter, Dawn DeMill, and a grandson, Kenneth MacPherson Archibald.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2010, at the Rigby Stake Center. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Thursday evening at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 West Main Street, Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
