Donna May Butikofer; 92 of Idaho Falls, died Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at the Idaho Falls Nursing and Rehab.
Donna was born June 5, 1913 at Annis, Idaho the daughter of William Lewis Adamson and Ella Poole Adamson. She attended schools in Antelope, Ririe, Rigby and Ucon. She was vice- president of her class for her senior year at Ririe.
She married Hilbert “Bud” Melville on September 1, 1938 at Filmore, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death. She married Samuel Alma Butikofer in Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1996.
She ran the Chapel of Precious Memories Wedding Chapel in Huntington Park, California and the Amour Twin Palms Wedding Chapel in Linwood, California. She ran the Outpost in Victorville, California.
Donna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served as a Stake Missionary for twenty-two years.
She sponsored twenty-three Cambodian refugees out of Camp Pendleton in 1975 and while living in Linwood, California raised seven Indian children from Arizona.
She enjoyed dancing, photography, horses and traveling all over Europe.
Donna is survived by a son, Levoy Melville of Los Angeles, California. Her sisters, Beulah Fehmel of Ririe, Idaho, Fern (Max) Lewis of Medford, Oregon and Teresa (Ron) Sterger of St. George, Utah. Two brothers, Rex (Alice) Adamson of Paulbrook, California and Frank “Bud” (Jean) Adamson of Ucon, Idaho.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two brothers; Clive and Gene Adamson, two sisters; Wilma Rogers and Ella Dockstader.
Graveside services will be held Monday, February 13, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, Idaho from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday prior to services.
