Donna LaRue Dinsdale Rogers, 86 of Rigby, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Homestead Assisted Living Center in Rexburg.
Donna was born July 5, 1928 in Annis, Idaho to Charles Benjamin Dinsdale and Hildred Hoffman Dinsdale. She was raised and attended schools in Annis and graduated from Midway High School. On June 3, 1953, she married Harold L. Rogers in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were blessed with three daughters. In addition to being a wife, mother and grandmother, Donna worked as a Deputy Assessor for Jefferson County.
Donna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served as Relief Society President, Young Women’s President, primary teacher, visiting teacher, stake dance director, and in family history.
She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, canning for food storage, gardening, and serving others. Donna loved her grandchildren coming over and spending time with all of her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Colleen K. Rogers of Rexburg, Lynda G. (Gary C.) Forsgren of Rexburg, Kathleen M. (Monte) Knutson, of Apex, North Carolina, sisters, Marlene Brammer of Portland, Oregon, brother, R. Darwin (Deanna) Dinsdale, of Rigby, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Rigby Stake Center, 258 W. 1st North, Rigby. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
