Donna Jean Tanner, 71, of Shelley, Idaho passed away Monday, April 12, 2021 on her own terms.

Donna was born May 15, 1949 to Joseph and Afton Gunderson in Lorenzo, Idaho.  She was the second oldest of nine kids.

Donna attended school in Rigby. She also graduated from cosmetology school and practiced it for a short time. She then met Kermit L. Villeneuve and soon married. From this union they had two children. They later divorced. Later in life she married the love of her life, Mark James Tanner. Together they traveled, fished, and took the grandkids out for ice-cream, truck rides and spending the night at their house.

Donna is survived by her children; daughter, Paula Anderson of Idaho Falls, ID, and Son, Kelley (Kimberly) Villeneuve of Rigby, ID.  Brothers; Dean (Jeannette) Gunderson of Ririe, ID, Ron (Marsh) Gunderson of Roberts, ID, Veral Gunderson of Menan, ID and Robert Gunderson of Menan, ID.  Sisters; Mary Christenson of California, Lela (Don) Glunz of Idaho Falls, ID, Roxie (Kevin) Ashbocker of Lewisville, ID, and Nina (Jed) Hodges of Rigby, ID.  Grandkids, Cheri Nessen, Bridget Villeneuve, Kyle Villeneuve, Chantell Anderson, two great grandkids and many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Afton Gunderson, a sister, Lela Glunz and a granddaughter, Courtney Nessen.

A funeral service will be held Friday, April 16, 2021 at 12:30 PM in the Eckersell Funeral Home (101 W. Main Street, ID).  The family will meet with friends prior to services from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM at Eckersells. Interment will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
