Doris Lee Ellis

Doris Lee Darling Ellis, 82, peacefully passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the Gables of Ammon.

Doris was born on July 18, 1941 in Nevada City, California to Ted and Melva Jenkins Darling.

She grew up and spent her life in the Idaho Falls area. Doris served in the U.S. Navy from July 11, 1960 to August 3, 1962 and served with honor.

Doris married the love of her life, Gary Clinton Ellis, on October 4, 1968 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized on May 13, 1983 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Their union blessed them with four children, Julie Ann, Debbie Sue, Troy E and G. Benjamin.

Doris worked for the Site as a secretary and later at Melaleuca.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. One of her favorite hobbies was playing cards with the women from church.

Doris is preceded in death by her sweetheart, Gary; sister Louise Jones, grandson Cody Ellis and parents Ted and Melva Darling.

She is survived by her children Julie Ann Ellis, Debbie Sue Ellis, Troy E. Ellis and G. Benjamin (Lisa) Ellis; sisters Nyda Ovard and Susan Ovard; brothers David Ovard and Michael Ovard; nine Grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Doris will be greatly missed.

A graveside service for Doris will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
