Dorothy Dexter Dawdy, 57, of Idaho Falls, died August 11, 2005 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
Dorothy was born April 8, 1948 at St. Anthony, Idaho a daughter of Charles Randall Dexter and Dorothy Charlotte Loveland Dexter. She attended schools in St. Anthony and Pocatello graduating from Highland High School. She married John C. Dawdy August 22, 1996 at Woodville, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Bannock Hospital, Monticello Medical In Longview, Washington, Astoria Medical Center in Astoria Oregon, LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls, various care centers and volunteered with Aspen Home Health and Hospice. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a visiting teacher. She enjoyed needle point and gardening and loved her pets and being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband John Dawdy of Idaho Falls, 1 daughter Michelle (Bryce) Stallings of Rigby, 1 son Brett (Shana) Dawdy of Longview, Washington, her mother Dorothy Dexter of Burley, Idaho, 2 brothers Dennis (Dana) Dexter of Burley, Idaho and Larry (Alice) Dexter of Julietta, Idaho, and 4 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday August 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Garfield 1st ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Brent Stout officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Church. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in St. Anthony, Idaho.
