Dorothy Choules Douglass

Dorothy Wilson Choules Douglass, age 86, of Tetonia, passed away at Homestead Assisted Living Center of Saint Anthony, Thursday, December 31, 2015. Dorothy was born July 9th, 1929 in Driggs, Idaho a daughter to Albert Choules and Rula Sheets Wilson Choules. She attended schools in Driggs graduating from Teton High School as the Valedictorian of her class. After graduating she attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah. She married Orrin Vernice Douglass, July 12, 1950 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They settled in Tetonia where they farmed and raised their family. She worked for First American Title for many years and was Teton County assessor for 28 years. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served with the Young Women, Primary and Relief Society. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and provided many families with baby quilts. She bowled on a league with her husband. Most of all she enjoyed being a grandmother. She is survived by her two daughters: Marilyn (David) Barbo of Rigby, JoAnn (Shayne) Rammell of Tetonia, a son James V. (Bobbie) Douglass of Tetonia, three sisters: Mary Smith of Boise, Idaho, Jeannie Tingey of Salt Lake City, Utah and Lois Hoffman of Centerville, Utah, eleven grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Orrin Vernice Douglass, a son Thomas V. Douglass and two brothers Albert Choules and Tom Choules. Funeral services will be Monday January 4th 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Tetonia 2nd Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop James V. Douglass officiating. The family will visit with friends at the church in Tetonia Sunday January 3rd from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel of Rigby.
