Dorothy Mildred Ferguson, 89, of Ririe, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Homestead assisted living center in Rigby.
She was born March 20, 1923, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Jesse Graham Clark and Mildred Frannie Gomez Clark. She was raised in Mud Springs, Ririe and Rigby, attended schools in Mud Springs and graduated from Ririe High School. She continued her education at Ricks College and Larsen’s Business School in Idaho Falls. On July 28, 1942 she married Jesse Merle Ferguson in the Logan Utah LDS Temple.
Dorothy worked in the Jefferson County Assessor’s office, retiring January 11, 1979. She served on the Ririe Library Board and with The Ririe City Council. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she taught primary and served in the Relief Society. She enjoyed fishing, camping, crocheting, and gardening and was known for her beautiful peonies and homemade raspberry jam. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling to Arizona.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Lindberg, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, sons, Jesse Thayne (Kathy) Ferguson in S.L.C, Utah, Brent (Anita) Ferguson, of Ririe, Idaho, sister, Marion (Ben) Bowen, of Downey, 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Charles Clark and a grandson Gerald Ferguson.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Services are under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
