Dorthy Jean Storer Hurley, age 89 of Rigby, passed away in Idaho Falls, Saturday, November 11, 2017. Dorthy was born November 26, 1927 in Rigby, Idaho a daughter to Dell Roy Storer and Margaret Vansickle Storer. She attended Ririe Schools graduating from Ririe High School. On February 23, 1947 she married Robert Hurley in Milo. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple February 23, 1971. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Primary, in the primary presidency and in the Relief Society in the Presidency and as Relief Society President. She loved traveling throughout the world with her husband. She enjoyed bowling, camping, the outdoors and reading. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Hurley Openshaw of Idaho Falls, a brother, Brad Storer of Idaho Falls, four grandchildren. Jeff Hurley, Jacob Openshaw, Chance Openshaw and Yasmine Openshaw, one great granddaughter Victoria Hurley. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sons, Steve, Bruce and Mark, a sister Alice Adamson and a brother LaVonn Storer. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rigby 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 364 North 4100 East, Rigby. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
