Doyle Jay Burnside, Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, rejoined Our Heavenly Father October 26, 2010 due to complications of a stroke.
He was born May 7, 1928 in Chapin, Idaho to Lawrence Jay Burnside and Elizabeth
Samantha Nickell. He grew up in the Darby area and there he found his love for the outdoors. With 5 sisters and 6 brothers there was always something to do. Doyle married his true soul mate, Florence May Smith, on November 10, 1945 in Driggs, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
They were blessed with seven children Clyde( Janice ), Moe ( Lorane ), Cleve (Jeannie), Darlean McNeil ( Kent deceased ), Bellva Smith ( Buzz ), Deanna Egan ( Brion ) and Dianna Ritter ( Larry ). His legacy is left behind with 26 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Doyle loved riding his rhino, camping, hunting, fishing and going to Arizona with his children. Most of Doyle's life was spent as a General Contractor. With the help of his family they built over 125 bridges in Jefferson County alone. They also built several churches and schools in the area. He was a proud man and a loving and devoted husband and father.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, his children, grandchildren and 2 sisters Valori Nelson of Victor and Dorla Douglass of Annis. He is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Elda, Muriel, Vila, 5 brothers Noel, Vernile, Lennace, Lawrence, Royce, 2 grandchildren Brandon Joe and Jeannie Marie.
He was loved by many and will truly be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2010, at the Clark LDS Chapel, with Bishop Kent Rolfe, conducting. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery, under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
