Duane "Dewey" Green, age 75, of Idaho Falls, died in Missoula, Montana, October 15, 2007.
Dewey was born May 22, 1932, at Menan, Idaho a son of Leon Rulon Green and Valoria Johnson Green. He attended school in Menan and graduated from Rigby High School. He then attended 2 years at Idaho State University studying Electronics. He joined the United States Air Force in 1950 serving 22 months. He married Julie Rottweiler, August 10, 1962 at Roberts, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in May of 1969. He worked as a sheepherder for Shippens, and Smalls in Medicine Lodge, as a mail sorter for the Post Office in Pocatello and in 1957 worked for Clement Brothers for 43 years. He belonged to the Birthday Club and the Pinochle clubs in Roberts. For the last 3 years he was the camp host at Stoddard Creek Camp Ground. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in various callings. He enjoyed horses, four wheeling, camping, playing Santa, playing with the grandchildren, board games and pitching horse shoes and was known as one the Bushmen.
Survivors include his wife Julia Green of Idaho Falls, one daughter Jody (Charles) Furrer of Missoula, Montana, two sons: Dee Green, and Steven (Raelyn) Green both of Idaho Falls, two sisters: Shirley (Larry) Hill of Rexburg and Beverly (Bill) Mercer of Menan, and 5 grandchildren Jordan, Shawn, AJ, Shania, Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother Rulon Green.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Osgood LDS Chapel with Bishop Greg Landon officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and on Thursday for one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
