Dwain A. “Pete” Peterson, 79, of Rigby, died Thursday, January 4, 2007 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
Dwain was born May 7, 1927, in Rigby, Idaho a son of Raymond C. and Mary Ellen Cleverly Peterson. He grew up on a farm east of Rigby. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He owned and operated a business in Idaho Falls for 20 years. He married Neva Laree Byington, June 15, 1948 in Idaho Falls. Dwain enjoyed boating, fishing and camping but most of all being with his family.
He is survived by wife Neva Peterson of Rigby, his children; Brent (Shayla) Peterson of Idaho Falls, Randall (Danette) Peterson of Annis, Idaho, Kelly (Elaine) Peterson of Idaho Falls, and Robert (Kim) Peterson of Enumclaw, Washington, his siblings Bertha (Ken) Heil of Brainard, Minnesota, Francella (Ivan) Tanner of Idaho Falls, Gladys (Donald) Tanner of Rigby, Juanita (Ray) Lewis of St. Anthony, Darlene (Pete) Mickelsen of Idaho Falls, Roberta (Rance) Young of Rigby and Dale Peterson of Rigby, 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Rayelda Pfost, Dennis Peterson and Florence Peterson.
Services will be held Monday, January 8, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will visit with friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and on Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
