E. Carlyle Gale

Elmer Carlyle Gale, age 80, of Rigby, passed away at home Thursday, June 30, 2016. Carlyle was born August 6, 1935 in Beaver Utah, a son to George Elmer Gale and Marie Fotheringham Gale. He married Elaine Christensen, June 11, 1958 in Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Carlyle was a devoted husband and father. His family and his faith were his most precious concerns. A life-long farmer, Carlyle was known for his integrity and generosity, frequently giving away his meager earnings to support family, friends, and missionaries. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Whether he was hunting, fishing, camping, or boating, he was always with his family. Carlyle and Elaine served missions at Martin’s Cove and the LDS Humanitarian Center in Salt Lake City. Carlyle donated countless hours working the stone for the Nauvoo Temple, and for renovation work on the Idaho Falls temple. He and Elaine also served as ordinance workers in the Idaho Falls temple. He is survived by his wife Elaine C. Gale of Rigby, two daughters—Patricia Ann Gale Maxey of Mapleton, Utah, and Barbara Gale Merrill of Rexburg—a son David Carlyle Gale of Ririe, a sister Sharon Marie Gale Bradshaw of Beaver, Utah, four brothers—Reid F. Gale of Ephraim, Utah, Howard D. Gale of Elsinore, Utah, Larry Gene Gale of Elsinore, Utah, and Jason Kesler Gale of Pleasant Grove, Utah—four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents G. Elmer Gale and Marie F. Gale. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rigby 4th Ward LDS Chapel at 602 West Sundance, Rigby with Bishop Bruce E. Marler conducting. The family will visit with friends Saturday, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will take place at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
