Earl Wayne Aitken

Earl “Bud” Wayne Aitken, 80, of Menan, died Monday, September 06, 2004 in Idaho Falls at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Bud was born February 3, 1924 in Lewisville, the son of Jesse Edward Aitken and Norma Betsy Angus Aitken. He grew up and attended elementary school in Lewisville, and High School at Midway High School. During World War II he served with the United States Marines. He married Sharon May Oram in Rigby, on November 10, 1949. They later divorced. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the American Quarter Horse Association. He ranched in the Lewisville area, was an avid horseman and was a member of the Davis Lake Cattleman’s Association. Along with Leland Barney he served as a 4-H leader for several years. He is survived by a daughter, Nyla (Alan) Jackson of West Jordan, Utah. Five sons, Jay Aitken of Idaho Falls, John Aitken of Idaho Falls, Mark Aitken of Lewisville, Richard Aitken of Lewisville, and Donald (Patti) Aitken of Bozeman, Montana. A brother, Darwin (Darlene) Aitken of Orville, California. Eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lawrence Aitken and Gene Aitken and one sister, Ina Carpenter. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lewisville Cemetery with Bishop Cliff Bramwell officiating.
