Earl LeRoy Foster, age 65, of Rigby, died Saturday, July 14, 2007, near Swan Valley, Idaho from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
Earl was born February 16, 1942 at Idaho Falls a son of Charles Foster and Martha Jane Billman Foster. He attended schools in Idaho Falls, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. He married Valene Hunter June 7, 1963 in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He worked for H&K construction as a heavy equipment operator and was an estimator at the time of his retirement. He was a member of the Escapees Travel Club. He and his wife Valene traveled the United States, Canada and Mexico in their fifth wheel and spent winters in Arizona. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held the office of High Priest.
Earl enjoyed fishing and hunting, was a handyman and craftsman in wood and tile, spending a month and a half in Alaska building a cabin for a friend, was a very strong, optimistic and compassionate person who made everyone around him happy serving them, finding joy in helping others, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends who will love him for ever.
He is survived by two daughters: Sondra (Jim) Fasbender of Rigby, Sherri (Jim) Carranza of West Jordan, Utah; one son Bryan (Karen) Foster of Rigby; two brothers: Leonard (Jean) Foster of Shelley, Brent (Maureen) Foster of Rigby and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one grandson one brother and one sister.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at 11:30 a.m. at the Rosehill cemetery in Idaho Falls with Bishop Wayne Call officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery.
