Earl Bennett Peterson, 86, of Rigby, died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at his home.
He was born April 7, 1924, in Waukegan, Illinois to Earl Cecil Peterson and Adel Bennett Peterson. He was raised and attended schools in New Lisbon, Wisconsin and graduated from New Lisbon High School. He enlisted in the US Navy and served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. On October 29, 1949, he married Avis Marie Greulke in Burbank California.
Earl was a member of the Lutheran Crown of Life Church. He was a cabinet maker and owned and operated Upper Valley Cabinet in Rigby for 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, oil painting and prospecting.
He is survived by his wife, Avis M. Peterson, of Rigby, daughters, Judy (Jim) Burrows, of Onalaska, Wisconsin, Diane (Kent) Merrill, of Rigby, Kenneth (Denise) Peterson, of Rigby, a sister, Shirley (Bob ) Cure, of New Lisbon, Wisconsin, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the Crown of Life Lutheran Church, 3856 E. 300 N., Rigby. Interment will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery with Military Rites by the Jefferson Veteran’s Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.
