Edith Jane Winn

Edith Jane Winn, age 90, passed away Thursday, April 24th, 2025 at The Gables in Shelley.

Edith was born April 19, 1935, in Preston, Idaho a daughter to Christen Louis Miller and Annie Mildred Fletcher Miller.  She married Leo S. Holdaway, September 18, 1957 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  They were blessed with 7 children.  They later divorced in the spring of 1977.  She then met and married Samuel Gould Winn, October 20, 1977 in Vineyard, Utah.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Utah Temple November 27, 1987.

She loved to read and learn from, self-help, parenting, and religious books.  She enjoyed gardening and flower beds.  She loved holidays with her family, especially Halloween and dressing up, she also liked playing games, Sorry, Phase 10, and Uno, were some of her favorites.  She was a big BYU fan but always rooted for the underdog.  She loved to laugh and find humor in everything.  We will miss her kindness and unconditional love for everyone.

Edith is survived by her children:  A daughter Julie (Paul) Scott of Park City, Utah, five sons, Kyle (Laralee) Holdaway of Terreton, Bryan (Julie) Holdaway of Rexburg, Shawn (Matt) Holdaway of Afton, Wyoming, Chad (Kristy) Holdaway of Terreton, and Chris (Cindy) Holdaway of Monteview, twenty-seven grandchildren and forty-eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Christen Louis and Annie Mildred Miller, her husband Samuel Gould Winn, a son Kevin Holdaway, sisters, Margaret, Edris and Anna Lou, and a brother Clinton Miller

Funeral services will be held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Terreton Stake Center, 1297 East 1500 North, Terreton, Idaho, at 2:00 p.m., Saturday May 3rd, 2025.  The family will visit with friends at the Stake Center from 1:00 to 1:45 pm.  Burial will follow services at the West Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery.
