Edward D. Koplin Sr. age 64, of Rochester, Minnesota died Thursday, February 12, 2004 in Rochester.
Edward was born July 2, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of Edward George Koplin and Lucille Jones Koplin.
He attended schools and LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was a published poet and had a heaven sent talent as a word smith. He used his talent to benefit many organizations throughout his life. He was a national sales representative for several large corporations including Reynolds Tobacco, OM Scott Lawn Products, Epcon Zeon Signs and Young Electric Sign Company. He formed his own recording company “Soundview International” and traveled throughout the country recording for Ascap. He loved people and enjoyed great success in his career.
He was member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 2002. He served in the United States Army during Korean War.
He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Espanoza and Denise McMullen both of Salt Lake City, Utah. Four sons, Edward Darrell Koplin, Anthony Koplin, Randy Atwood, Carter Atwood all of Salt Lake City, Utah. A sister Tami Wellever of Bellevue, Washington and three brothers, Clair Koplin of Rigby, Idaho, Kerris Koplin of Salt Lake City, Utah and Michael Koplin of Pennsylvania. Eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents and a son David Atwood.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rigby East Stake Center with Bishop Steven Anderson officiating. The family will meet with friends on Saturday, February 21, 2004 at the Rigby East Stake Center from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery in Ririe, Idaho under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby.
