Elaine Christensen Gale, age 82, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2022 at the Homestead in Rexburg, Idaho.
Elaine was born June 10, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter of Harold C. Christensen and Ellen Heppler. She attended Olympus High School in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Elaine grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married the love of her life, Carlyle Gale on June 11, 1958. They raised their family in Riverton and Salem Utah. Elaine was a CNA and worked in nursing homes in Idaho and Nebraska. Other places Elaine and Carlyle lived were Idaho Falls Idaho, Venango Nebraska, St. Anthony Idaho, Mapleton Utah and Rigby Idaho.
Elaine was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and part of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Elaine love music. She played the piano and violin and also taught music lessons. She also loved traveling with her husband. But most importantly, Elaine loved serving others. She was always helping and serving family and neighbors. Her life was a life of sacrifice and service.
Elaine is survived by her daughters Patricia (William) Maxey of Utah and Barbara (Brian) Merrill of Idaho, her son David Gale of Idaho and sister Diane (Dick) Neilson of Utah. Elaine has four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Elaine is preceded by her parents, Harold and Ellen Christensen, husband Carlyle and her three brothers.
Services will be held Monday, March 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby, Idaho. The family will meet with friends for visitation from 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers and gifts, please donate to your favorite charity in Elaine’s name. It’s the best way to honor her because she always gave away her money.”
