Elden Ross Packer

Elden Ross Packer, age 79, of Rigby, died Friday, December 22, 2006, at Rosetta Assisted/Senior Living in Idaho Falls. Elden was born April 10, 1927, at Blackfoot, Idaho a son of Arden Sharp Packer and Mable Walters Packer. He married Fern Ethel Petersen Oakden, November 27, 1997. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, genealogy and temple work. He is survived by four daughters: Joyce Lorraine Vanderpool of Pendleton, Oregon, Judy Kaye (Wade) Mason of Twin Falls, Idaho, Jannet Lea (Barry) Seeklander of Buhl, Idaho, June Linda (Steve) Laraway of Meridian, Idaho, three sons: John Ace (Dora) Packer of Aurora, Colorado, Jerry Ray (Debra) Packer of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Joe Eldon (Elaine) Packer of Rigby, 5 sisters, 2 brothers, 30 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his last wife Fern, and a daughter Jeannie Marie Draper. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
