Elden Hyrum Williams

January 20, 1918 — September 2, 2006

Elden Hyrum Williams, of Ririe, died Saturday, September 2, 2006, at Heritage Park Care Center in Roy, Utah. Elden was born January 20, 1918, at Malad, Idaho a son of George J. Williams and Nellie Griffith Williams. He attended schools in Malad, Idaho graduating from Malad High School and Utah State University where he earned a degree in Ag-Science. He married Lottie Berndt July 30, 1941, in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. She preceded him in death May 30, 1995. He married Wilda Kidman, October 29, 1996. He served in the United States Army from 1942 until 1944. He was an active member of the LDS Church and held the office of High Priest. He taught school and coached Basketball for 30 years and never had a technical foul. He was a member of the IHSAA Hall of Fame (class of 1995). He loved to hunt and fish, attend the temple and go to any basketball or football game. Survivors include: his wife Wilda Williams of Roy, Utah, 2 daughters, JoAnn “Jodi” (Blair) Grover of Ririe, Eldene (Dick) Moss of Tremonton, Utah, 3 sons, Ted (Pat) Williams of Rigby, Reed (Sharon) Williams of Rigby and Wes (Wendy) Williams of Ririe, 19 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 8 brothers and sisters and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ririe Stake Center, 14061 N. 130 E., Ririe with Bishop Dan Skene Officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, September 5, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and on Wednesday, from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
