Eldon Albert Tirrell, age 93, of Rigby, died August 27, 2003, at his home in Rigby. Eldon was born on December 8, 1909 in Cedar Fort, Utah the son of Albert Tirrell and Elizabeth Jane Lovell Tirrell. He was raised and attended school in Antelope, Idaho. Eldon cleared the land and farmed at antelope. He also owned and operated Rigby Coal & Feed in Rigby for 40 years. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission for the church from 1929 – 1931 to the Southwestern States. Eldon was an active horseman. He trained thoroughbred race horses and ran them throughout the intermountain West. Eldon loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed his family especially his grandchildren

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2003 at the Rigby East Stake Center at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Steven Anderson officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday evening August 29, 2003 at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and prior to the services on Saturday, from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center. Burial will follow the services at the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel.
