Ellen Aurelia Deveraux, age 98 of Idaho Falls, passed away at Good Samaritan Society in Idaho Falls, Wednesday September 18, 2013.
Ellen was born in Emmett, Idaho a daughter to Guy Gladden Harris and Rachel Louisa Lake Harris. She attended Emmett Schools. She married Albert Deveraux in Emmett, Idaho October 26, 1934. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 27, 1965.
She was an active member of the LDS Church serving as Primary President and in the Young Womens Mutual Association. She belonged to the American Business Womens Association. Ellen worked at J.C. Penny in Rigby, the Frock Shop in Rigby, LeVines Dress Shop, Carrolls Dress Shop, Montgomery Ward and at Town and Country Nursery.
Ellen enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, fishing and camping.
She is survived by her daughter Donna (Jerry) Parmer of Idaho Falls, Step-sons Wayne Deveraux of Red Bluff, California, Dave (Crystal) Deveraux of St. George, Utah, Sister Gladys Rivers of Dallas Oregon, 15 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren.
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and one step-son Jay.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the L.D.S. Church at 3195 S. Holmes in Idaho Falls (corner of Sunnyside Drive and Holmes Ave.). The family will visit with friends on Monday at the L.D.S. Church at 3195 S. Holmes in Idaho Falls (corner of Sunnyside Drive and Holmes Ave.) at 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. and prior to the service from 9:30 -10:45 a.m. Burial will be at the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
