Ellen Marie Moss

Ellen Marie Moss, 89, died Friday, April 16, 2004, at her home near Ririe. Ellen was born March 26, 1915, at Grapevine, Texas a daughter of James Laurie Hunter and Delilah Jane Dolberry Hunter. She attended schools in Grapevine and Fort Worth, Texas. She moved to Idaho in 1932 and on June 7, 1934 she married Arlo James Moss in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on November 9, 1996. Ellen farmed with her husband and family. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings including teacher, visiting teacher, young women leader, and compassionate service leader. As a young girl she enjoyed dancing and twirling baton. She also enjoyed bowling with her friends, riding horses, fishing, was a great cook and loved spending time with her family. Survivors include: four children, Janet (Steve) Hurzeler of Idaho Falls, Jim (Sharon) Moss of Snake River, Dick (Eldene) Moss of Tremonton, Utah, and Patty (Norman) Landon of Ririe; 1 sister Florence Moss of Idaho Falls, 38 grandchildren, 79 great grandchildren and 31 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter JoAnn Wilding, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, 1 grandson, 1 great grandson and 1 great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the Perry Ward LDS Chapel, 285 2nd West, Ririe, with Bishop Jerry Parker officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday evening at the Perry Ward LDS Chapel from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
