Ellen Mae (Gordon) Zaugg, 83, of Rigby, Idaho passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in Idaho Falls, Idaho at the East Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Ellen was born February 5, 1941 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Maurice Rupert Gordon and Mabel Ann Whitman Gordon. She attended Clearfield Elementary, North Davis Junior High School in Clearfield, Utah and graduated from Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah. On June 12, 1959, she married Alonzo N Zaugg in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Salt Lake City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Ellen worked as the store manager at the Maverick Convenience Store in Ririe, Idaho and as a secretary for the Bonneville County Planning and Zoning. She has lived in Clearfield, Utah and Ririe, Idaho.

Ellen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had opportunity to serve as with her husband on a Senior Mission to the South Dakota, Sioux City Mission, assigned to the Mormon Hand Cart sites in Wyoming. She also served as a matron for 10 years in the Rexburg, Idaho Temple along with multiple leadership callings in the church. She had many talents which blessed the lives of her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, painting, cooking, crocheting, reading, crafting, family time and activities, games and camping.

Ellen is survived by her loving husband, Alonzo N Zaugg of Ririe, Idaho. Children; Melinda (James) Jones of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Scott (Troy) Zaugg of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Kenneth (Dorothy) Zaugg of Idaho Falls, Idaho. A daughter-in-law, Vonda Zaugg of Rigby, Idaho and son-in-law, Mat Davis of Rigby, Idaho. She was blessed with 31 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Mabel Gordon. A daughter, Holli Davis and a son, Michael Zaugg.  Brothers; James Gordon and Earl Gordon. A sister, Mary McNinch.

A funeral service will be held for Ellen on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Ririe LDS Stake Center (14061 130th Road East, Ririe, ID 83443). The family will meet with friends on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm and again on Saturday, January 18, 2025 prior to services from 9:30 to 10:45 am both at the Ririe LDS Stake Center. Interment will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
