Elsie Marie Galbraith Hill, age 90, of Lyman, Idaho, our sweet sweet mother, sister, and grandmother returned home to our Heavenly Father, Thursday, September 4, 2003. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.
Elsie was born in Lyman, June 4, 1913 to Francis and Nettie Sutton Galbraith. She was the second child of seven. She was a life long member of Lyman Community, and has always lived in Lyman Ward. She was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and throughout her life served as a teacher in the primary, visiting teacher and as Quilt Director for the Relief Society. She married George W. Hill, November 2, 1939 in Twin Groves, Idaho. He passed away July 19, 1958. She enjoyed making quilts for her family and friends, a good game of cards and enjoyed life. She was full of love, service and devotion to others.
Survivors include: 2 daughters: Beverely (Ron) Meikle of St. Anthony, Julia (Jeff) Lords of Aurora; Colorado 5 sons: Milton (Carol) Hill of Pocatello, Howard (Julie) Hill of Idaho Falls, Victor Hill of Menan, Dale (Sharon) Hill of Salem, Blair (Trinity Noland) Hill of Rexburg; 1 sister: Vesta Robison of Rigby; 35 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 sons Ralph and Clifford and 2 grandsons.
Funeral Services will be held Monday September 8, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Lyman Ward LDS Chapel. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, September 7, 2003, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 West Main Street Rigby), and on Monday for one hour prior to services at the Lyman LDS Church. Burial will be in the Sutton Cemetery in Archer, Idaho.
