Elton Lorenzo Harmon

Elton Lorenzo Harmon, age 88, of Milo, died Saturday, January 7, 2012 at The Gardens of Rigby. Elton was born January 21, 1923 at Milo, Idaho a son of Lorenzo Barnes Harmon and Victoria Christensen Harmon. He attended Milo & Iona schools and graduated from Ammon High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1942 until 1945 as an Air Plane Mechanic stationed in England. He was a member of the VFW Organization. He married Marlene Jane Sanborn in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 12, 1956. He was a dairy farmer in the Milo area all of his life and he worked at Lincoln Sugar Factory, LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls, District #93 in Idaho Falls and at Bob’s Quick Service in Rigby. He was a member of the LDS Church. He served one mission to Leeds, England and a second with his wife to Branson, Missouri from 1990 to 1992. He was an avid Bowler and was on a Tuesday evening bowling league at the Bowlero in Idaho Falls. Survivors include his wife Marlene Sanborn Harmon of Milo, a daughter April (Fred) Toone of Grace, three sons Thayne (Anita) Harmon of Mapleton, Utah, Skip (Deborah) Harmon of Ririe, and Mallory (Kathy) Harmon of Milo, two sisters Caroline Hansen of Clearfield, Utah and Jane Ball of Rexburg, two brothers Arthur (Marilyn) Harmon of Clinton, Utah and Norton (Shirley) Harmon of Layton, Utah, 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Garrett Harmon a great grandson Tyler Brunson and a daughter-in-law Kaylene Harmon. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Foothills Ward, 12127 North 75 East, Idaho Falls (Milo). The family will visit with friends at Eckersell Memorial Chapel Friday January 13, 2012 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Milo Cemetery.
