Elva "Renae" Freeman

Renae Freeman, age 70, of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away at her home on Monday, June 9, 2025.

Renae was born June 20, 1954, in Rigby, Idaho, a daughter of Lloyd Jay Passey and Carla Mae Langley Passey.  Renae was raised in Rigby, Idaho and attended school in Rigby graduating from Rigby High School.  She continued her education at Ricks College and at EITC where she earned her CNA.

Early in life Renae was blessed with her son Heath. She Married Monty Freeman, with this marriage she gained a son Jaremy and they welcomed their daughter Jaime. Together they raised their family in Rigby, Idaho. They later divorced.

She worked for Sacred Heart Hospital and then went on to manage the Rigby Senior Citizen Center for many years, was the kitchen cook and manager for EITC and worked Home Health as a CNA at Madison Memorial Hospital. She also was a manager at Head Start in Rexburg for three years.

Renae enjoyed cooking, crocheting, golfing, baseball, horse racing and family activities.

She is survived by her daughter Jaime (Colton) Anderson of Rigby, Idaho, Son, Jaremy Freeman of Rigby, Idaho, sisters, Barbara (Dave) Wylie of Rigby, Idaho, Colleen Passey of Rexburg, Idaho, brother Richard (Tana) Passey of Idaho Falls, Idaho, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Renae was preceded in death by her parents, her son Heath William Rhodes, brother Keith Passey, and former husband Monty Freeman.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby (101 W. Main Street). The family will visit with friends Monday evening from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. and prior to the service Tuesday at 9:30 -10:45 a.m. both at the Funeral Home.  Interment will be at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home.
