Elwin "Junior" Loveland

Elwin Junior Loveland, 71 of Rigby, died Sunday, September 4, 2016 at his home. Junior was born December 4, 1944 in Boise, Idaho to Elwin Hugh Loveland and Phyllis Avery Loveland. He was raised and attended schools in Lava Hot Springs, Soda Springs and Blackfoot, Idaho. He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1963 where he lettered in track and football. On July 3, 1964, he married Sharon Rae Perkes in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple; they were blessed with 3 sons, Dirk, Thomas and Todd. December 6, 1965, he enlisted in the US Army Reserve. Junior worked as a salesman in the farm equipment and car industry, he also operated a family convince store in Riverside, Idaho. Junior was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Young Men’s Organization. He enjoyed sports, NASCAR, snow-machining, camping and cooking. Above all he loved his family; he especially enjoyed being a grandpa and supporting his grandchildren in their sporting events and activities. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Rae Loveland, of Rigby; sons, Dirk Elwin (Mistie) Loveland, Thomas Carmen (Heather) Loveland, Todd Ray (Jenni) Loveland, all of Idaho Falls, sisters, Linda Kay (Dennis) Human and Donna Jean (Ches) Katseanes, both of Blackfoot, 8 grandchildren, McKayla (AJ) O’Neill, Keagan, Kortnee, Jarrett, Lana, Kason, Gentry, and Benson and 1 great-grandchild Kaidence O’Neill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwin and Phyllis Loveland, parents-in-law, Eldon & Erma Perkes and a brother-in-law Terry Crumley. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Garfield 6th Ward LDS Church, 71 N. 3700 E., Rigby, and Wednesday, September 7, 2016, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby. A private family graveside service will be held Wednesday, Sept 7, 2016 at the Moreland Cemetery in Moreland, Idaho. Services are under care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
