Emily Nelson Lyman Young, age 90, of Rigby died at her son’s home in Rexburg, Wednesday, February 28, 2007. She was born November 28, 1916 at Archer, Idaho to Isaac Nelson and Iva Lenroot Nelson. She attended school at Lyman, Archer and Madison High School. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Emily married Walker Lyman, June 6, 1936, the marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. Walker died October 4, 1969. She later married Linus Young July 22, 1972 in the Idaho Falls Temple for time. Linus died November 21, 1994. Emily loved the out doors, hunting, fishing, camping, picking huckleberries, riding horses, photography, jewelry and silver smelting, but most of all loved to paint her beloved mountains and pine trees.
Emily is survived by her children Barbara Foreman of Reno, Nevada, Verlene (Blaine) Steiner of Antioch, California, Betty Mace of Salt Lake City, Utah, Brent (Karon) Lyman of Thornton, Janice (Roger) Mace of Salt Lake City, Utah, Geneva (Jim) TenEyck of Idaho Falls, Val (Jeannie) Young of Boise, Judy (Mark) Valencia of Idaho Falls, 22 grand children, and 38 great grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents, two spouses, a sister, a brother and one son-in-law, Larry.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rigby Stake Center, with Bishop Earl Bishop conducting. The family will meet with friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Eckersell Memorial Chapel and prior to services at the Stake Center from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery.
