Emma Berneice Hill, 86, of Ririe, Idaho passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022 reuniting her with her husband, Merlin Howard Hill who preceded her in death.

Berneice was born February 28, 1936 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the daughter of David Albert and Delila Emma Mattson Park. She attended schools in Ririe, Idaho, graduating from Ririe High School. She married Merlin Howard Hill in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on March 4, 1954. She loved being a homemaker and raising her family in the Shelton area.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Berneice had many opportunities to serve. Her favorite was serving in the primary. She learned early in life to work and enjoyed keeping busy and getting things done. She enjoyed taking care of her home, painting and doing puzzles. Together, Berneice and Merlin also loved serving as ordinance workers in the Rexburg Idaho Temple.

Berneice is survived by her children; Bradley (Vicki) Merlin Hill and Kelly David (Barbara) Hill both of Ririe, Idaho and daughter, Jana (Craig) Gibbons of Eltopia, Washington, a brother, Kenneth Park of Idaho Falls, Idaho, a son in law, Cleon Ward of Kooskia, Idaho.  Loved by 24 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a daughter, LaRae Berneice Hill Ward, and brother, Gary Park.

A funeral service will be held Monday, November 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Ririe LDS Stake Center, (14061 N. 130 E., Ririe, ID 83443). The family will meet with friends Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home, (101 W. Main Street, Rigby, ID 83442, and again on Monday prior to services at the Ririe LDS Stake Center from 9:30 to 10:45 AM. Interment will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
