Emma Louise Harris

Emma L. Harris, age 93, of Ririe, died at Mount Vernon Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls, Tuesday, September 25, 2007. She was born November 12, 1913 at Farmington, Utah, a daughter of Lee Spackman and Mary Louise Morgan Spackman. She was raised and attended schools in the Layton area and graduated from Davis High School. May 20, 1938 she married Cleon Edwin Harris in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She along with her husband farmed and operated a dairy for most of their married life. She was an active member of the LDS church. Emma enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting. During the past fifteen years she made and donated hundreds of quilts to the Primary Children’s Medical Center and over the last three years helped with stuffing balls for orphanages through the Humanitarian Center. She is survived by two daughters; Jannis (VerNon) Wages, of Idaho Falls, and Jackie (Leroy) Johnson of Rexburg. three sisters; Anna Robison, of SLC, Utah, Irene Wilde of Coalville, Utah, and Ruth (Lloyd) Andrews of Lehi, Utah, one brother Marion (Theone) Spackman of Morgan, Utah, Ten grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six sisters, one brother and two grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Ririe Stake Center, Bishop Alan Myler, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, at the Church. Burial will be in the Ririe Shelton Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Mt. Vernon for their kind and loving care.
