Emma Gay Williams Vineyard, 99, of Idaho Falls, formerly of Rigby, died Sunday, September 15, 2013, at Good Samaritan Care Facility in Idaho Falls.
She was born November 4, 1913, in Walton, West Virginia to Owen Lee Williams and Ella May Noel Williams; she was the youngest of 12 children. Emma was raised and attended schools in Walton West Virginia. In 1931 she married Carson Vineyard in West Virginia. They were blessed with 9 sons and 1 daughter. In 1945 the family moved to Woodville, Idaho; then to Idaho Falls in 1951, and in 1953 they made their home in Rigby. Emma worked at the Fresh Pak from 1966 to 1983, inspecting potatoes; she also worked next to her husband and her sons in the timber industry for many years.
Emma took great care of her family, she enjoyed gardening quilting and preparing big meals for her family.
She is survived by her sons, Noel (Martha) Vineyard, of Montpelier, Idaho, William “Bill” (Bonnie) Vineyard, of Weiser, Idaho, Kit Carson (Beverly) Vineyard, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Greg (Linda) Vineyard of Casper, Wyoming, Mark Vineyard, of Idaho Falls, and 100 plus grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Bernice Flint, sons, James, Larry, David, and Matthew Vineyard, her sisters and her brothers.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, prior to graveside services.
