Enrique Galvan Garnica, 56, of Menan, died April 5, 2010, at his daughter’s home in Idaho Falls.
He was born January 18, 1954, in Aratzipu GTO, Mexico, to Rafael Galvan Solorio and Josefina Galvan Garnica. He was raised in Aratzipu Guanajuato Mexico, and at Age 5 he moved to Mexico City, Mexico. On September 19, 1970 he married Maria Trinidad Galvan, in Penjamo Guanajuato, Mexico. He owned and operated a cultured marble business in Mexico. After moving to Tetonia, Idaho He worked as a farm laborer for Glen Nelson and Clint Hoopes. He then moved to Rigby where he worked for Walkers Produce in Menan, with Lorin Goody, as a farm hand in Rigby, for Briggs Roofing in Rigby and Idaho Pacific in Ririe. He was also a baker and sold homemade bakery goods all over the area.
Enrique enjoyed baking bread, roosters and chickens and above all loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Trinidad Galvan, of Menan, daughters; Esmeralda (Randy) Lozano, of Idaho Falls, Josefina (Ramiro) Barajas, of Moscow, Idaho, Cindy Galvan, of Moscow, Idaho, sons; Enrique (Lilia) Galvan, of Idaho Falls, Marco Antonio Galvan, of Ensenada, Mexico, Victor Manuel Galvan, of Ensenada, Mexico, sisters; Consuelo Galvan, of Hartford, Michigan, Juanita Estrada, of Denver, Colorado, Ester Salcedo, of Mexico, Rosa Galvan, of Mexico, Sara Rodriguez, of Idaho Falls, Mireya Tinoco, of Idaho Falls, Guadalupe Morales, of Idaho Falls, brothers; Luis Galvan, of Mexico, Ramon Galvan, of Rigby, Arnulfo Galvan, of Mexico, Rafael Galvan, of Rigby, 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Menan LDS Church, 3547 E. Menan Lorenzo Highway, Menan, with Pres. Noel Raymond, Conducting. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Eckersell Memorial Chapel, 101 W. Main Street, Rigby, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little-Butte Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel, in Rigby.
