Eric Emerson McCauley, 58, of Rigby, Idaho passed away July 12, 2025 at Idaho Falls Community Hospital surrounded by family and loved ones.

He was born March 12, 1967 in Greenville, Pennsylvania. He would later move to Fort Lupton, Colorado where he would graduate high school with the class of 1985. Shortly after graduating, Eric joined the United States Navy. During his service in the Navy, he traveled to East Idaho for Nuclear Training. While there he met his sweetheart Jodi Lynn Ball.

Shortly after dating, they decided they wanted to spend their lives together and were married on September 29, 1987. While in the Navy, Eric and Jodi first lived in the Bay area of California and later moved to Virginia where they welcomed their first child, their son, Morgan. After completing his Naval service in August of 1991, they moved back to Rigby, where they settled and welcomed two more children, daughters Kimberly and Kalli.

While living in East Idaho, Eric began his career at the Idaho National Laboratory, where he retired as a Senior Reactor Operator at the ATR. Allowing his Navy service and Nuclear Training to come full circle.

Eric grew up in a strong Christian home. Continuing in his faith of Christ, he was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Throughout his life he remained a faithful and active member serving and magnifying the many callings he received. He will be remembered as a great man of service. Eric had a talent for knowing how to fix anything and everything; he loved helping neighbors, family, and friends. Without hesitation, he always came tool bag in hand ready to minister and serve others in any way he could.

Eric had many hobbies and interests that he enjoyed doing with family and friends. These hobbies and interests included: working on and rebuilding cars, family history work, and cooking for family. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife Jodi. Some of their favorite things to do together were traveling, visiting their grandchildren, and supporting the Rigby High School sports teams. Along with these many activities, later in life Eric discovered a love for pickleball.

Eric is survived by his loving wife Jodi, his son Morgan (Diana), two daughters Kimberly Horn (Shad) and Kalli Fitzgerald (Rhett). Father Ray McCauley and step-mother Sarah Adams of Greenville, PA. Sister Melissa, Brothers Rick (Aairona), Scott, Micheal, and Robert (Tracie). And his 8 grandchildren: Olivia, Brailee, Lillian, Bentley, Brooklyn, Grayson, Finley, and Elaine. He is preceded in death by his mother Sandia Tressler Hayes and his step-father Lee Hayes.

Eric always took the time to stop and talk to anyone he knew. He never left a life untouched. His family wants him to be remembered for his acts of service and love for others. He was a great example of someone who emulated Christ. He can best be honored by living like him and serving others.
