Eugene Curtis Preslar, 93, of Idaho Falls, Idaho died Friday, March 18, 2005 at his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was born May 18, 1911 in Robin, Idaho the son of Leslie Preslar and Zoa Curtis Preslar. Gene was raised in Marshcenter, Idaho between McCammon and Arimo. He attended local schools there. He farmed in Robin and Gooding , Idaho and owned two grocery stores, one in Honneyville, Utah and the other in Bridgeland, Utah. Gene worked for Box Elder County. He also ran cattle in Florence, Montana. He married Afton, Morris in McCammon, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She preceded him in death. He married Inez Tolly Youngstrom on September 1, 1990 in the Logan LDS Temple. He was a member of the LDS Church. Gene enjoyed fishing and traveling to Overton, Nevada for the winter. He is survived by his wife Inez Preslar of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Six daughters, Marilyn (Jeff) Crane of Sandy, Utah, Joan Buckland of Sunnydale, Idaho, Renae (Walt) Jones of St. George, Utah, Connie (Monte) Windmiller of Grant, Linda (Jim) Olson and Marva (Fred) Hicks of Boise: 3 sons, Morris (Carol) Preslar and Joe Preslar of Salt Lake City, Utah and Ron (Sharon) Youngstrom of Santa Maria, California. A sister, Leona Duncan of Hawaii and a brother, Earl (Anna) Preslar of Pocatello, Idaho. 34 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a wife, Afton Preslar , 3 sisters Nell, Donna, and Beth, two brothers Wendell and Leland Preslar, and one grandson Steven. Graveside services will be held Monday, March 21, 2005 at 12:00 noon in the Norton Cemetery in McCammon, Idaho. The family will meet with friends at Eckersell Memorial Chapel (101 W. Main, Rigby) on Sunday, March 20, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
